Are the majority of student athletes in football and basketball criminals?

It is being contended by a family member that the majority of student ahletes, mainly speaking of basketball and football men, are criminals. I believe this to not be true but can't find any stats. Does anyone have stats on what % of athletes get in trouble with the law? I find it difficult because many DO get out of trouble because of their association with sports.|||Well I'm 16 and I play both football and basketball and none of the guys on either team are considered crimanals
