High school Soccer? association football?

for the love of God my team just does not care yes we are freshman but they have no heart playing outside D with a 3-4-3 its hard to effect the mind set of the team season is almost over but how could i help get my team to state when im a junior/senior? any info could be use full|||3-4-3 is a very poor formation, basically allowing your defence to get overrun nearly every attack. The standard formation is 4-4-2 however that's becoming slightly outdated. I'd recommend 4-5-1 where the central midfield is organised into 2 defensive midfielders and one attacking midfielder, this is currently the option used by most football teams in the big games eg man utd, barcelona, inter milan and real madrid. By having 2 defensive midfielders where one of them sits just in front of the defence protecting them and trying to breaking up play and another who can be considered a deep-lying play maker who the basically links up play and passing dictating the tempo of the game, and an attacking midfielder who can provide support to the attack and provide the final touch needed to create an opportunity you ensure that you dominate the midfield- where the game is essentially won and lost. However, having 2 defensive midfielders does not mean that you have 6 defenders as they both MUST sit in between the defence and midfield, this does not mean they neglect there attacking duties and one of the 2 may go up at any given time (but not too far up the pitch) to support the attack preferably the deep-lying play maker, also both must be more disciplined in there positioning than the attacking midfielder who's given a license to roam and float around the midfield providing support and confusing the opposition.

Caution-your midfield needs to be tactically aware of the game to understand their duties properly as they're specific, also you're striker needs to have pace and power as he'll have no strike partner to compliment him.

On the note of tactics it is a must that you keep possession of the ball preferably in the middle of the pitch, this is where a 5 man midfield comes in handy. Also make your passes simple concise but accurate and utilise your wingers effectively, this will stretch the team greatly creating gaps for your attacking mid and attacker to exploit. Make sure the players are all well generally disciplined in their positions and defend and hassle your opponents all over the pitch as to make it harder for the opposition to get close to your goal- dint give them space. You yourselves should work together as to create space for your teammates to pass into when they've got the ball. Finally, defence is priority as when your not conceding your not losing, this doesn't mean go ultra defensive but make sure you don't get sloppy losing the ball in defence etc.

Good luck lol i know its a lot to take into. If you want a a perfect example try to watch Barcelona play, they execute it perfectly.|||3-4-3 is asking for trouble. Try 4 in defense and 4 or 5 in the midfield. 4-4-2 is always a simple but effective formula. You will have those important extra bodies back when your opponents have the ball.

Remember; when YOU are in possession, start from your position and look for space to receive a pass. When THE OPPOSITION are in possession, start from your position and get close to their players to make a tackle.

But if there's no heart, you're doomed.
